These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the World Pins mobile application and website at worldpins.app, operated by Tomas Dudovicius ("World Pins", "we", "us").
By creating an account or using the app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use World Pins.
You must be at least 16 years old to use World Pins. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will terminate their account without notice.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the minimum age of 16 reflects the requirement under Article 8 of the GDPR. If you are outside the EEA, local minimum age laws applicable in your jurisdiction may also apply.
License. World Pins grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and, where applicable, the App Store Terms of Service (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
Apple. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, these Terms are an agreement between you and World Pins only — not with Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. However, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Maintenance and Support. World Pins — not Apple or Google — is responsible for maintenance and support of the app. Neither Apple nor Google has any obligation to provide any maintenance or support services for the app.
Warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple and Google make no warranty regarding the app. Any warranty or product claims should be directed to World Pins at tomasdudovicius@gmail.com.
Product Liability. Apple and Google are not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and/or use of the app, including product liability claims, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property infringement claims. Any such claims must be directed to World Pins.
World Pins is currently provided free of charge. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or fees at this time. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we will update these Terms and provide advance notice before any charges apply.
World Pins is a location-based photo sharing, trail recording, and event discovery platform for capturing and discovering interesting public places — landmarks, nature, streets, scenery — for recording and sharing hiking and walking trails, and for participating in location-based photo events and challenges. It is not intended for sharing personal spaces, private gatherings, or identifiable individuals.
Every photo you post is public and includes the exact GPS location where it was taken. Trails you record are also public and include the full GPS path you walked or hiked. Do not post photos or record trails at locations you wish to keep private.
When you use the Trail Recording feature, the app requests background location access so it can continue tracking your path while the screen is locked. Background location is used exclusively for trail recording and for no other purpose.
Events are time-limited photo challenges or community activities organised within the app. When you submit a photo to an event, the photo and its GPS location are verified against the event's geographic area. Event submissions are public and subject to the same content rules as regular photos.

We use automated content moderation (AWS Rekognition) to detect prohibited content before it is published. Content that passes automated checks but is later found to violate these Terms will be removed and the account may be suspended or terminated.
You retain ownership of the photos you upload, the trails you record, and event submissions you make. By posting content on World Pins, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the service (showing photos and trails on the map to other users, and displaying event submissions within the event context).
You confirm that you have the right to post any content you upload — including that it does not infringe any third-party copyright, privacy right, or other right.
You are solely responsible for everything you upload, including photos, trails, event submissions, and any associated location data. World Pins does not review all content before publication and cannot guarantee that all prohibited content is caught by automated filters. We are not liable for any harm caused by content you or other users post.
If you upload content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or the rights of others, you bear full legal and civil responsibility for that content.
Users can report content or accounts that violate these Terms using the in-app report feature (available on photos, comments, and user profiles). Users can also block abusive users, which immediately removes the blocked user's content from the blocker's view and notifies our moderation team for review.
We commit to reviewing all objectionable content reports within 24 hours. Upon confirming a violation, the offending content will be removed and the responsible user's account will be suspended or terminated. Repeat offenders will be permanently banned.
If your content is removed or your account is suspended and you believe this was done in error, you may contact us at tomasdudovicius@gmail.com to request a review. We will consider appeals in good faith but are not obligated to reinstate content or accounts.
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms. You may delete your own account at any time via Settings → Delete Account.
Upon account deletion, your profile and credentials are permanently removed. Photos you posted remain on the map as anonymous contributions — they will never be reassociated with any account. To request removal of specific photos, email us at tomasdudovicius@gmail.com before or after deleting your account.
World Pins respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the platform infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please send a written notice to tomasdudovicius@gmail.com that includes:
We will review valid notices and, where appropriate, remove the infringing content and notify the uploader. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.
World Pins is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful content posted by other users. Your use of the service is at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, World Pins and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or from content posted by other users. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the service (which is zero, as the service is free).
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of World Pins after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lithuania.
